    The Antidote for Worry

Has your life become a pressure-packed race, a marathon of dealing with trivial pursuits and inconsequential irritations, distracting anxieties and unwarranted fears?  Could your life be described by the philosopher Thoreau as “one of quiet desperation”?  I think it’s impossible to consider what the Bible says about worry without examining Paul’s message in Philippians 4:6-7.  “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  This basic approach to worries and concerns will ultimately lead to inner peace.
